Q: What is the difference between an Audi A8 and Audi S8?
I'm just wondering, what is the difference between an Audi A8 and Audi S8?
What are the benefits of one or the other? I'm confused by the S Series and A series, i thought they were one in the same, but what exactly are the differences? Which one is better?

A: The S8 is a sportier version of the A8. They are essentially the same car it's just the S8 will have a few subtle cosmetic differences i.e. bigger wheels, silver wing mirrors etc. it will however have a much more powerful engine. It will also be a little bit more "driver focussed", so it will have better suspension and will handle better.
The S8 is a better car than the A8, however it really depends what you want. the A8 is a perfectly good car on it's own. It's luxurious, safe etc, but if you want all that plus some performance then you would go for the S8.

Q: How does an Audi A8 W12 get the same est. gas mileage as an RS4?
The A8 weighs 1000 pounds more, is bigger and most likely less aerodynamic, has 4 more cylinders and 30 more horsepower. How is this possible??? Is the RS4 engine extremely inefficient or what?
A: well the standard a8 has a 4.2 L v 8 which is the same engine the RS4 is just way more supped up for power/torque and using more gas

today i was going home and on freeway my car started to shake, only when i give it gas, but whenever i stop giving it gas and the speed goes down, my car doesn't shake at all. i read some bulletins online and some ppl say its the engine mount? what do you think is the problem??
A: does it feel like it has plenty of power or is your engine sputtering when it shakes. Sounds like to me its in need of a good ole fashioned tune up.

Audi A8 with a clicking noise coming from the dash where the stereo and heating controls are…? It’s not there all the time, it will start clicking after 5 min’s and only last for about 20/30 seconds. It’s not the stereo or the heating controls as the noise is still there when there all off…………………?
A: Its probably the water going through the heater matrix....as the stat open sup and allows water to flow around the engine to cool it you'll hear this as the heater matrix is fitted behind where your stereo/heater controls are......to check start the car and wait for the temp guage to move up,when it starts moving listen for the noise....its only water...no need to worry..

A: There wasn't an A8 in 1994.

A: the w12 model happens to have a w configuration 12 piston motor, while the s8 has a lambourgini based 5.2 liter v10. The W12 is an L model which stands for long. The S8 is shorter more powerful, less refined, and handles better than the A8 L W12.

A: I think Transporter 2, always being 3 steps behind BMW in performance, and 2 steps behind Mercedes in luxury and amenities. Also, poor reliability, glorified VW, good interior ergonomics but ugly red interior lighting. I think a few things...Best regards...

A: That depends on what kind of supercharger you get and where you get it installed...It would definitly be around $2,500....no less than $1,500 for the supercharger alone....with everything, it would mosty likely be around $3,000 or upper 2k
You would need new gaskets, new headbolts, new compressor pulley, new camshaft, new intake tube, new injectors....the list goes on...I did a google search and couldnt find any specific sites that sold supercharger kits for the A8, but if you search on LLtek.com, Tap1.com, goapr.com, or any of the audi racing parts sites you can prob find one
