Q: How do you remove a 1996 Honda Accord Radio?
I have a 1996 model Honda Accord, and the display screen and radio have been in and out lately, so I want to check the connection in the back of the radio. If not I am going to get a new stereo for it. How do I remove the radio because it has no screws or anything and it doesn't just pull out.
A: These have the armrest between the front seats that hold cassette tapes and a bunch of junk. Clean out this storage armrest and notice the door on the bottom of compartment. Using a regular screwdriver - remove that small door. Also remove the cup holder and it's door (cup holder just lifts out) Then remove the ashtray. Remove the two screws that are on bottom of armrest below the door and there is one more screw before armrest can be removed. It is at the front/top where the cup holder was, behind the shifter. You do not need to remove the screws below on bottom where cup holder was, just the one screw along top front edge. Now lift off armrest piece. There is one screw behind where ashtray was and two screws on top corners in back of shifter. Once those screws removed the plastic dash piece around the radio will unsnap and move aside to expose bolts that hold in radio along bottom/rear of radio. You can pick up a install kit at Wal-Mart for cheap that will allow you to connect a new non-honda stereo with no cutting of wires.
Q: What can I do to my honda accord to improve performance without "ricing" it out?
I want to do something to my stock 4cyl manual 5 speed honda accord coupe.....I am not about to rice it out or anything, I do not race it and don't have plans to....I just want to do a lil something to it to give it a little performance boost when I am driving it, what could I do for relatively cheap?
A: Cold air intake, upgrade plug wires, better flowing exhaust(complete system) with good muffler.
Q: How much should it cost to have a 1999 Honda Accord door fixed?
I recently got in a car accident where I hit another car. It was a 1999 honda accord door. The door is dented and needs new paint. How much around should it cost to be fixed? Would it be cheaper to just get a new door?
A: Be prepared to pay $1,000.00 for paint and labor. It's usually not cheaper to get a new door unless the damaged one is really mangled, and a new door will cost a boatload -- you don't want to go that way unless you have no other choice.
Q: What's the best engine to use for customizing a Honda accord?
well I'm planning on customizing an old 97 Honda accord and I'm just wondering what engine is best for speed and performance and which ones are compatible with NOS. I'm sort of a novice when it comes to car parts
A: Im gonna piss a bunch off people off with this but
there are better cars out there to customize than a rice burner
find a early model american made car
Q: How would i make a regular v6 honda accord supercharged?
i have a honda accord with a v6 engine. but i want to make it supercharged. is there anyway i could convert the engine into a turbo? or supercharged? if so, how, and what would it need.
i want to know the best turbo kit i can install to make it a faster car. and any other things i should add to it.
A: a supercharger & a turbo are both forced induction systems - and create large increases in hp by forcing quantities of air into the intake system of a properly prepared car.
the quantity of air delivered is measured in p.s.i. and is commonly referred to as boost.
when installed at the same level of boost a supercharger & a turbo will provide the same increase in power.
a turbo is a turbine that is driven off of the engine's exhaust gas.
a supercharger is driven by a system of pulleys by the engine.
while a turbo is more efficient in low to mild boost installations a supercharger is preferable, because its lighter, easier to install , usually cheaper (certainly labor costs are much lower), runs cooler & delivers power earlier & in a more linear fashion than a turbo. a supercharger is easier to upgrade to higher levels of boost.
-in either case to prepare a car you require:
cold air intake & throttle body spacer
performance exhaust, catbacks
performance headers
re tune of the engine's management system by a performance shop (pro-tune)
these modifications will allow you to run a mild boost installation, of about 5lbs - which will increase your hp over stock by approx.35%
because these forced induction systems create high heat-engine stress to go beyond a mild boost & to prevent chance of engine failure, you are advised to further build out your engine:
-bottom end, forged pistons/rods
-performance heads

all in - if you are depending on shop labor for the installation, a forced induction system will cost in the range of plus$5000, the other necessary modifications (intake, headers, exhaust_probably $1500-2000.
if you want to build out the engine to run higher levels of boost-serious money.
increased power is not cheap and especially if you depend on shop labor for the installations .....unless you can do the wrenching yourself, often it is cheaper to buy power on the hoof - lots of modified cars around, rather than modifying your existing car.

Q: How do I track the electrical system in my 89 Honda Accord?
Lately I have been having trouble with my Honda Accord's battery draining itself after I turn it off. Subsequently I have to get somebody to jump it when I want to drive it around. What could be the problem, and what is a cheap and effective way of finding out how to trace the problem and fix it?
A: Well, first you make sure the battery is good and can hold a charge as long as it should. You do that by driving to the auto parts store and getting a free battery and charging system check. See the Advance Auto online video about "Battery Basics" where they encourage you to come in and have the checks twice a year. Next, you need to have a "parasitic battery drain" test done on your car, preferably using an ammeter rather than a test light as below. No more than 1/4 ampere should be flowing from the battery while it's parked overnight.

Q: Where can I find seats for my honda accord 91 ?
I own a honda accord 91' my seats are not in the best shape and I would like to buy new ones but I can't find a wesite or anything where they sell seats for cars...If anyone knows please help!!Thank You!
A: It would probably cost less to have them recovered rather than but new seats.
Q: What do i need to lower my honda accord?
I have a 96 honda accord ex 4-door and i want to lower it. What parts will i need and should i get new shocks and camber kits?
A: You could get a lowering package with springs and shocks
Q: What are the best tires for a Honda accord for under $100 a piece?
I have a Honda Accord and I need 4 new tires. Money is a bit tight right now so I don't want to spend too much. Can anyone reccommend some tires around or under the 100$ range that are a good value in regards to tread wear, handling and comfort.
My car has a V6 engine and its mostly city driving with about 35% highway driving.
A: To find the best tires for your car, look at the sidewalls and find the tire size. It should be something like 205/60-16 (I'm guessing the year of your car. That's for a 2002) If you want to change sizes, use the size you chose.
Go to the Tire Rack at:
http://www.tirerack.com/
Enter your car make, year, and model in Box #1, check to make sure the tire size is right, and then follow the menus.
If you are changing sizes, then skip the car input and go directly to 'Tires.'
If you don't input any preferences (click 'proceed to results'), it will give you every tire they carry in that size. Don't worry about speed range -- they'll select that for you. You can sort in order of price and check the box by the ones in your price range.
Then click on 'compare selected tires' and it will show all the tires you selected arrayed left to right, with their ratings in various categories listed below.
Find the highest numbers in the categories you care about, and that's your tire.
I looked up the 2002 Accord V6 and of the 205/60-16's they list, the Yokohama AVID H4S would be my choice at $74 each. I have these on my wife's and daughter's cars.
Q: How do you change a fuel filter on a 1997 Honda Accord?
I have a four-cylinder Honda Accord that needs a new fuel filter. I have the fuel filter, and have been told that it's fairly easy, but I can't find the fuel line under the car. Does anyone know of a website to show me how, or can someone walk me through? Thanks!
A: i blieve you filter is located either under the air filter box or on the firewall near the passenger middle of the engine comartment.
Q: What maintenance should I do to my Honda Accord?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord that I've had since '99. Other than the usual maintenance (oil changes) I wanted to know if there was something else I should do to the car to keep it in good condition. I plan to keep it for a few more years and want to make sure it stays in good working order.
A: Your doing good so far you should have the transmission serviced at 100,000 miles the o2 sensor at 100,000 the air filter at every 3rd oil change unless where you drive is dusty or dirty then it needs to be changed a little more often but other than that you are doing good
Q: How much to Tint my windows for honda accord 08?
I just want to know how much would it be if i get my 2008 honda accord tinted (the whole car) . Just give me estimate for a cheap tint and a good tint job.
A: 100 bucks and up so make a few calls or do it your self.. make a few phone calls to find a good price
Q: Anyone know why my Honda Accord dies when i let off the gas pedal?
I have an 89 Honda accord and we have replaced alot of items on the car, plugs, wires, axles, tie rod ends, brakes, needless to say the whole front end. Our next item is that when we are steady driving with the gas pedal down the car runs wonderful. However when we stop at a light or anytime we take off the gas pedal the car dies. We are not sure why this is happening. Does anyone have a clue?
A: its a idle air control motor or valve replace that and your problem will be corrected you car is fuel injected i see this problem all the time on fuel injected cars
Q: Transmission woes on the Honda Accord or is it the timing belt ?
My honda accord v6 is approaching 80,000 miles and just got the 1st hint of trouble ever. On lower speeds if I depress the accelerator pedal, sometimes there is a delayed response and then a nasty jerk. I have heard of this problem in the model. What is it? Is it the timing belt? Or is the transmission going? Will have to end up replacing the entire transmission ?
A: take it to a dealership... tell them the problem, there is an extended warinty on the trans that honda has offerd due to the amount of problems they have had with the trans in their cars as of late
good luck
Q: Have you added a rearview camera to your Honda Accord?
I have a 2008 Honda Accord Coup with the GPS package. I enquired about adding the rearview cam, but was told it only comes for the Sedan. There cannot be much difference between the two cars (besides two doors). Has anyone tried adding this to your coup?
Was it dealer supplied? Was it costly? Did they use the Sedan package on your coup? A few detail, please.
A: My dealer said that a rearview camera could be added to any car. I have no clue why your dealer would say otherwise. I would go shop around, go to another Honda dealer if there is one nearby and ask... or just call. If they say no, look into getting an aftermarket one. If you have any auto customization shops by you, stop in or call, I know they will be able to do it.
