Q: Honda Cars?
Ok, I am getting either an acura integra, honda civic, or mitsubishi eclipse, I am basing this on previous questions I have asked on here and opinions and facts that friends have presented to me. Now, with that being said, can I find one of these cars 93-99 yr model, for around 2-8k ? and would you mind listing the pros and cons of each. Thanks
A: If I were to choose, I'd say a Honda Civic. Those things LAST FOREVER. Seriously. And they get great gas mileage. I'd say you could get a 98-2000 for your price range. They are all around great cars. I don't know a lot about the acura, but I have heard they are pretty decent as well, especially for the price. Now I'd say the eclipse, out of all of them, would be the lower quality of the three. they are cute and nice but I think hondas and acuras are definitley more economical, especially with the horrific gas prices at the pump. Gas prices are only going to get worse, so stick with something you can afford that gets good G mileage. Another you might look at is toyota. They are top of the line. Not sure if they would be in your price range, but maybe. And toyota's last FOREVER too. awesome cars.
Q: Are honda cars as economical and practical as toyota cars?
Im a toyota car user and since ive just sold my unit, im thinking of switching to honda for whatever its worth..I need some advice from honda civic car owners...
My toyota corolla altis was fuel efficient and did not break down during the 5-year time i used it...
A: The good thing about Honda's is that they last a very long time and they always run very smoothly, as well as Toyota. As far as fuel usage I think the Honda is a little better then Toyota, though Toyotas probably last longer then most hondas and also are more stylish and luxurious. My first car was a Honda and it lasted me such a long time until I got into a car crash and my insurance offered me more then I bought it for to repair it, i took that and also sold the car so it ended up making me a profit. Honda cars also dont depreciate as fast as others do, Overall I liked honda better then toyota, but both brands are very trustworthy
Q: Where can I find a mechanic who works on Honda cars?
I have a 1988 honda accord but I dont want to take it to a honda dealership to be worked on.
A: For the umpteenth time, anyone who's looking for a good, honest, reliable mechanic should go to www.cartalk.com; click on "actual car information". Scroll down and look for the section called "Mechanic's files". There are sixteen thousand mechanics who have been recommended by regular folks. Good luck!
Q: How to open interior of Honda cars?
Can any one tell me or better if CAN GIVE A LINK where i can read all how to remove the various interior parts of a HONDA PRELUDE 92/91, etc details ? i need to open my Cd player and see other stuff but that requires removing a big middle frame of plastic. i simply cant open that frame, if i am able to open that then i would have acess to most stuff..The frame gets stuck around the front and cant be taken out.
A: No place on line to show how to do this, but a Haynes or Chilton manual will give you step by step on anything you need to do to the car.

Q: How true that HONDA cars can not be used as TAXI?
Even Mercedes Bench can be converted as taxi, but Honda is the only vehicle in the world that can not be used as a taxi
A: I have seen honda van taxi's
Q: do new honda's cars built for Great Britain specify 5w20 weight motor oil?
in the US new honda cars specify 5w20 weight motor oil, i've been told that 5w20 motor oil returns 1% beter fuel mileage but negatively impacts engine life
A: It depends what motor oil you're comparing it to: Most UK spec cars now specify 0w-30 or 5w-30 oil.
I assume that you are comparing this to 'old' heavier multigrade oil, from 10w or 20w up - this isn't deemed necessary any more due to the machining tolerances of modern engines - at one time, if you put a thinner grade of oil into an old engine, you'd get a problem with oil consumption.
The idea of specifying lower viscosity multigrade oils is that they circulate quicker from cold & therefore cause less wear in the long term.
I use 0w/30 semi synthetic in my Nissan 2.7TD with 150k miles on, no problems with wear or using any oil.
Just looking at Castrol's website, looks like they show manufacturer's spec as 0w/30 for virtually all Hondas.
Q: Do you see a lot of used honda cars in Honda dealerships' parking lots?
I don't and I wonder why?
A: I see more for sale by owners. I'm sure there are many reasons (car is stolen, illegal modifications, primer paint job, unpainted panels from accidents, high mileage, etc.) that keep hordes of them off of dealership lots. It is usually better to do a private sale, dealers won't give you what its worth.
Another reason might be because those used Honda's are out there on the road still being used. I know my Civic will never go to a dealer. :P

Q: What kind of toyota and honda cars are good?
A: -Fits are the least expensive
-Civics are the low in cost which is what I drive.
-Accords are also very good but cost slightly more than the Civic. After that, you go up in cost towards their other vehicles like their Element, CR-V, Insight, Pilot, Trucks and Roadster. They are all good vehicles... Honda is a good brand with great liability.
Q: How is the Hyunday mark talking about cars, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Daewoo?
Only for experts in cars I'd like to know about best and worst marks, like Daewoo, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Hyundai, Kia, Geo Metro, MItsubishi, Ford, etc, characteristics, comments, opiniosn, advices, tips, talk about the repairs, etc
A: --Japanese cars are still generally the most reliable--I'd place Toyota, Honda and Subaru at the top. Some of Nissan's models are very good, but some of their SUVs and vans are unreliable. Mitsubishi models seem to be quite reliable as well. Many (but not all) Japanese cars are very good overall performers.
I might just add a bit more about Subaru, since I drive one-- Subaru reliabilty is quite consistent across the entire line-up and the AWD system is bulletproof, but they have high repair costs when something does go wrong. I've found that access for the minor stuff (headlight bulbs, latch mechanisms, etc) is easy.
--Many Hyundai and Kia models are based off the same platforms, so they are very similar in most respects. While they still aren't the most reliable, they've made enormous gains over the last 10 years (this applies to their overall performance in general as well).
--For North American cars, the big three have some good cars and some bad ones. Some of Ford's newer models seem to be doing well, but traditionally North-American cars are troublesome in their first year. North American vans and SUVs seem to have more problems than their cars--newer GM minivans come to mind. Some of the older designs--GM's midsized cars, for instance--do well. In terms of overall performce, many North American models rank midpack, again with some very good cars and some poor performers.
--European cars have become known for being excellent cars... except in reliability. From what I've heard, many European makes are suffering from electrical problems--notably Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. While some of these problems may have been ironed out, you'll find numerous reports of problems with some European makes. Some models are fairly reliable, but few are near the top.
I'm basing my views off the various reliability surveys I've come across as well as a number of peoples' experiences, and it's quite possible to have no problems in a car with a bad reputation (and vice-versa). Hope this helps!
Q: How often a used(3 to 5 years old) BMW or Totyota or Honda sedan cars come for repair?
How ofen do used( 3 to 5 years old) cars like Audi, BMW or Mercedes come for repair and How often cars like Totyota, honda, VW, Nissan ?..
And any comparisons between Audi and BMW.
A: it all depends on how it was driven, if it had a crash. and so on.
i have a used vw and i hardly visit the mecanic, just for plugs and ...
Q: What is the difference between the cars Honda Odyssey and Honda Odyssey Touring?
I asked my parents and they don't know and our cousins have the Touring one but I don't see a difference, so if you know please tell me!!!!
A: the touring has larger wheels and tires and different shock/ strut valving and more expensively trimmed interior
also the oil change indicater is rediculously hard to reset in comparison to normal odyssey [buying one of these is like throwing out loose change with the laundry water, you don't really feel the loss but over the years that change adds up, and after 10 years the touring wont be worth any more than the less expensive version]
Q: how does honda ship there cars to the united states?
I'm doing a project on Honda and i was wondering how they go about shipping cars over to the united states once manufactured. does anyone know how they do it? and can u please provide the link. If u know the company they go through that be awesome too
A: Depends on what car it is.
Some are manufactured in North America, and others overseas.
Those that are made in North America are shipped from the factory using truck transports to railroad marshaling yards where they are loaded onto trains to go across the country only to be loaded back onto trucks and delivered to the dealers.
If the cars are going to dealers within driving distance, they are shipped using trucks exclusively.
If the cars are coming from overseas, they are brought to port on massive ships called "roro's" which is short for "roll on, roll off". Once they hit the port, it is either truck or train from there, and always by truck to the dealer.
As for the companies they actually use, you might try getting hold of Honda North America directly and talking to someone in their PR department for the specifics.
Q: Which company manufactures the best replacement brake pads for Honda cars?

A: just call a local junk yard they have all the interchange info..
