Q: How can you fit a sunroof that has a tilt function as well as the slide to a 3rd Gen Honda Prelude?
My friend has a 3rd Gen Honda Prelude and wants to replace the sunroof with one that tilts up (as I believe his does not?).
He has asked me to set about looking for just such a solution, so any help would be most appreciated.

Q: Anyone have or know where to buy a Chilton Repair Manual for an 88 Honda Prelude Si in the BC area?
I'm in the process of restoring a 1988 Honda Prelude Si (with 4 wheel steering) but in Manila, Philippines the car never went into production so my mechanics and I are are wits with some of the detailed electronic and manual repairs needed for the car to be in tip-top performing condition. Since one of my friends lives in BC (who knows nothing about cars) I've asked him to search (even a used one) and take it with him when he comes to visit late this month.
If any of you have one that you want to dispose off, I'd gladly take it off your hands or if any of you know where to get one, I'd appreciate all the assistance you an accord.

Q: how would i remove the gaurd from the underside of a hood from a 98 honda prelude?
i have a 98 honda prelude with a dent in the front of the hood, and i want to remove the hood and remove the metal shield that is attached underneath the hood to push the dent out, it seems as though i could simply be pulled off from the insulation/adhesion material after you have unbent the overhang edges holding it, anyone have any experience with this?
A: if it is a shallow dent you can try a suction type dent puller. if not see a pro or look for a used hood
Q: How to kill a alarm system on a 1995 honda prelude?
I just bought a 1995 Honda Prelude it has an alarm system but no clicker to arm and disarm how can i kill the alarm or temporaly shut off. and if so where is the alarm at? PLEASE HELP
A: factory alarm is connected to a green plug near the steering column.
if its an aftermaket alarm its usually installed around the same location but could be installed anywhere in the interior, youll need to find it and unplug it.

I am planning a swap sometime soon and need to know if the h22 vtec motor from a prelude has everything to swap a motor to an automatic 1990 honda accord. This car is AUTOMATIC and i have to know if i have the slave cylinde etc. thanks for all your help
A: If you mean doing a H22A swap as well as also doing an auto to manual swap, then no it will not come with everything you need. It's not going to come with the master cylinder, the clutch pedal, the correct brake pedal (you'd need a manual '90 Accord one), the shifter assembly, etc. Most swaps just come with the ECU, engine, transmission, engine harness (or partially cut engine harness), shifter cables, stock mounts, slave cylinder with cut line, intake manifold & throttle body, whole exhaust manifold or half of the exhaust manifold, and sensors. Basically they come with everything you'd need to put them into a '94-'97 manual transmission Accord. So if you were doing an auto to manual swap as well, there will be more parts that you will need to buy.
If you're talking about doing an automatic H22A swap (no auto to manual), then you'll need aftermarket mounts and to do a wiring conversion, OBD0 to OBD1 as well as modify the engine harness.

i have a honda prelude 92 and it had a wiring problem. wheneva i put the lights on at night the neons would go on automatically. i have fixed the wiring problem now, but i dont know how to turn on the neons now.

the car had wiring problems. and i got it fixed from a professional. i didnt do it myself. now i dont even know where the switch is to turn on the neons cause i thought it was with the lights and it was automatic, but its not since the wiring been fixed.

Q: The horn, SRS, and cruise control in my Honda Prelude don't work. What could the problem be? How to fix?
I have a 1993 Honda Prelude SI 4WS. The SRS indicator light is on, and there is no response from the horn and the cruise control. I've checked my fuses and they all seem to be operational. That's pretty much the extent of my electrical knowledge. I think everything went at once, so I assume they're related somehow.
A: you need to be very careful working around airbags.
if you have to do it yourself disconnect the negative battery terminal. the part is called a "clock spring", it connects the electrics from the steering wheel to the battery etc. it is not repairable- make sure the new one goes on the same way the old one came off.

Q: How do I change the Valve/Oil pan Gaskets on Honda Prelude?
I have done this before on a Jeep, and wonder if there is anything to watch out for, or any tricks involved in changing the valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket.

A: take a picture of the oil pan and valve covers b-4 removing any bolts(cell phone camera is handy here)making notes (mental or written)of bolt sizes ,lengths etc.place them in separate boxes .clean the mating surfaces of old gasket, dirt etc. glue the new gaskets to their respective parts(hi-temp RTV works ok or permatex) replace the parts and DO NOT overtighten the bolts, run them up "snug" or finger tight then working from the middle outwards torque them down according to mfg specs 1/8th of a turn at a time for each bolt in 'criss-cross fashion until all are tight usually 2-3 rounds of sequence tightening is plenty. overtightening causes the metal to 'dimple' around the bolt hole creating leaks

Ya Im getting a 1993 Honda Prelude from free from a friend because the engine is totally gone. And I get my license in a few months, so I was just wondering if anybody new around how much it will cost to buy and have someone install a 2.2L VTEC 5-Speed Engine. If anybody can answer this it would be greatly appreciated.

Tiger Japanese is a great site for honda motors. They have start-up garrentees, warranties and cheap shipping. I seen both prelude motors from 92-95 vtec and non-vtec for $750 and if you look around and make afew phone calls you could find a shop that'll install between $350-$700. Your looking at a price range of $1000 to 1400

What do you guys think of the 3rd gen 88 Honda Prelude 4WS, Si. I bought one as my first car and it is really good condition and reliable.
A: Hondas are great cars, and I have a soft spot for the model around the year you mention. They are generally pretty realiable, but parts are very expensive when things do go wrong. Make sure you look after it and service it regularly and don't thrash it, and it should last for years to come!

Ok, so... i am getting a completely stock 1999 Honda Prelude with a manual transmission. This is my first car. Anyways, i definitely want to get an cat-back exhaust system and a cold air intake. Q: My Honda Prelude RPM dips dangerously low. What could be the cause?
I have a honda prelude, 2000 SH model manual. Whenever I slip into neutral to coast/brake, the RPM would dip to (and sometimes below) 500. After the dip, it would idle at ~800rpm.
Causes and solutions?
Also, its currently 102degress F with a humidity of 44%... in case that's relevant.
