Q: I want to transplant a F20C Honda S2000 motor into my 88 civic hatch, is it possible?
I found this 250 hp F20C motor online and it beats the heck out of my 170 hp JDM ZC swap, so I want to put it in, would that work? could I make it work if there is problems? thanks.
A: You'd have to fab up some sort of ridiculous bellhousing to make that work. The F20 is only used in rear wheel drive applications, and your car is obviously front. That of course is assuming you're able to get past the initial challenge of fitting the motor in there safely anyways.
There's a reason it hasn't been done.
Drop a K in that fool!
Q: my honda s2000 is very drafty at the roof front at speeds over 70mph,can it be adjusted?
when the roof closes electrically and then is clamped by hand , can it be adjusted or do i need a new seal?
A: don't worry it can be adjusted but id recommend taking it to a Honda garage to be done properly, it wont cost much either. also they wont lie to you and tell you you need a new seal when you don't.
Q: How do I open the fuel cap on an 08 honda s2000?
I've got one for a three-day test drive and it currently doesn't have enough fuel to get back to the dealer. I've looked everywhere for a lever... :-(
I've got one for a three-day test drive and it currently doesn't have enough fuel to get back to the dealer. I've looked everywhere for a lever... :-(
And will all the idiots who've never even seen one PLEASE stop giving me vague "there's a lever somewhere" -type answers?
A: there is usually a lever on the drivers side down on the floor, by the door...it has a pictures to either pull up or push down...(theres a manual in the glove box that will tell you...)
then go to the left rear of the vehicle and see if the door to the gas tank is open...push IN on the cap and turn LEFT...after you fill the tank, make sure the cap CLICKS at least 3 times(after it's closed) (to the right) making sure it's sealed.
If the gas tank opener isn't on the floor, look UNDER the dash, NEAR the drivers door. ( I've never seen an S2000. but I've owned Honda's/Acura's for 28 yrs now and thats where the gas tank openers usually are.)
Q: What's the best and cheapest way to add more torque to the Honda S2000?
I'm looking for a new car and the only thing I don't like about the S2000 is the lack of low-end torque. Most people are concerned with HP but torque is what makes a vehicle quicker and wins races. I know a supercharger or turbo will improve it but I don't want to spend that much money. Maybe there's an ECU chip that adds more torque?
A: No NA mods will gain you appreciable torque in the S2000. Without going FI (forced induction), you can only tweak a low displacement, high revving engine to a certain extent.
Basic bolt-ons such as an intake and exhaust results in minor gains (<5hp, 2-3lb-ft torque). ECU tuning via a VAFC is pointless if you're staying NA - an AEM EMS or Hondata ECU (06+ only) will net you some minor gains, but again nothing substantial. The Hondata ECU removes the mid-range dropoff before VTEC transition, but the result is you get a minor gain for only a small 500rpm rev wnidow. For the rest of the rev-range, you end up gaining a couple hp/lb-ft.
Really, what would be more suitable is to get a new final drive gear (http://www.ricks2k.com/products/reargears.php) which will lower your gearing. The result will be quicker acceleration through the gears and a "feeling" of greater torque at the wheels. The downside is a higher cruising RPM on the highway, which can be annoying.
Only a turbo (Inline Pro, Lovefab, etc) will gain you substantial torque. Only FI (turbo or supercharger) will net you substantial gains.
Regardless, the S2000 was never intended to be a straight-line beast - many other cars for much less $$ will be far quicker. You own a S2000 for its handling, its responsiveness, its rawness, and its aptitude on a road course/autocross.
Q: Do they make a child seat for a Honda S2000 convertible?
My wife and I are expecting a baby. I want to keep the car and proposed getting a baby seat for my car. I think minivans are retarded and if that baby doesn't want to ride in my car he can walk to daycare.
A: How lovely! If I'm not mistaken a Honda S2000 is a two seater. You can't put a baby seat in the front seat, do you know how awful that could be if an accident were to happen? On second thought, you probably don't. Pray that your wife will be an awesome mom.
Q: Which car is better Honda s2000 or Mitsubishi Eclipse year 03'?
I am getting my first car soon and can't really decide which car i should perfer to buy. I am kind of big and I believe that s2000 is too small for me. :( Are Mitsubishi nice cars?
A: There is no comparison. The S2000 is miles above the Eclipse.

Q: Which car do you think is better? A Mustang or a Honda S2000?
I am going to buy a new car and i am going to buy a mustang. Then i looked at the Honda S2000 it looks pretty interesting. Which car would you prefer? and why?
Which one do you think is better like to get girls. If it is the mustang what exterior color would you prefer to a guy to get a lot of girls in college?
A: what the hell do you mean by 'better'? 'better' for WHAT? mustang has a back seat and a useable trunk. V8 rumble and all american style.
S2000 is more like driving a go kart. a big, mean, burly, evil go kart. which, i might add, is really really fun!
define better, use less broad terms, and get a 'better' answer
Q: Honda S2000 alignment question?
I just got a honda s2000 (an 06 model) and when over a really bad pot hole. Anyway, do I have to take it to the dealer to get it aligned or can I take it somewhere like firestone? Firestone does life time alignments for like $150. What option is best?
A: i would take it to honda. they are hard to align. take it to the people that work on them for a living. besides we only charge $60 for an alignment at the dealership that i work at.
Q: How do I install a honda s2000 guage cluster in a 90 acura integra?
A: you can with a lot of trouble and then nothing will work because of the electronics, on the 2000 everything works by computer and sensors
Q: What are the pros and cons of a Honda S2000?
please list some of the advantages and disadvantages of the new Honda S2000...
A: I will only list facts and not opinions.
Pros (things that the S2k has that others in it's category doesn't):
- ceramic coated cylinder walls
- forged aluminum Pistons
- higher flowing head than most (#1 flowing honda head - today)
- the sky-scraping 8,000 RPM redline (2004 and newer)
- PERFECT balance 50/50 weight ratio (the previous yahoo answer didn't have his facts)
- handles like it's on rails.
- Considered to have one of the best feeling 6 speed transmission with very short throws.
- convertible top goes down in about 6 sec with a touch of a button, you can do it at a stop light with no worries.
- Honda Reliability
- pedals are in ideal position for "heel/toe" shifting/braking.
- Rear wheel drive
- HID projector lights
- "Recaro" brand seats
- decent mileage under 6k rpms
other awards (previous years) inlcude:
- The F20C engine won the International Engine of the Year award in the "1.8 to 2 litre" size category for five years from 2000 through 2004
- The S2000 was the highest-ranked model in the J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study "Premium Sports Car" class for 2004 and 2006
- The S2000 ranked number #1 in a BBC Top Gear survey in 2004, 2005, and 2006
- The S2000 was on Car and Driver's Ten Best list for 2000 through 2002 and 2004.
CONS:
- Rear wheel drive (for those who aren't used to it)
- stiff ride compared to others in same class (could be an opinion)
- not much torque under 6k (could be an opinion)
- cabin is not as quiet as others
- niche market
- only 2 seats
- rear view (while backing up) has blinds spots, as with most convertibles
- not much room to recline or for very tall drivers (6'3"+)
- cup holders get in the way of arm resting....
I can't think of much more "cons". I hope this helps. Best thing to do is to go for a test drive, you won't regret it!
Q: I want to run a Honda S2000 on LPG Gas, because i always drive alot in the city and i'm a student on low budge
thank you for you're answers. i just wanted to know if you can run a thristy sports car on something cheeper than petrol / gas. i own an 23 year old carburreted 1.3 liter car that takes about 10L / 100 Km. So i wanted something cool, reliable and cheap to run... is that posible?
A: this seems to be a "most" asked question ....about running cars on lpg......if your low on funds now by the time u get done with this project u will be minus funds.....we changed over many buses in the 80s during the gas crunch to lpg......u need a tank ,,jets, regulators. hoses, system heaters .............,fuel system modifications..and a whole lot of fabrication.....with the prices today i would think 3500 to 4000 dollars to be a reasonable amount to charge for this project...that's if my liability insurance will allow me to even do this type of work.....here lpg is at 2.68 a gallon.....and will be more in fall or winter....for the price of a change over you could drive 15000 to 17000 miles with your Honda....not only that but the value of your car will drop to nothing when u want to sell...we understand what u are trying to do...but lpg didn't work in the 80s and its still impracticable today
Q: im thinking about buying a honda s2000, and selling my 92 lexus sc400, is this a good choice?
im 16 and i wanna know more about the s2000 and price ranges, specs, does it out perform the sc400?, thank you
A: The s2000 is a better car in my opinion. Lighter, Fast for a 4cyl, Sporty stick shift, Good handling. Compared to the sc which is heavy, gas killing v8. Plus i dont think the sc400 ever came in a manual stick shift. Since your 16 i bet you want a stick shift over a automatic. But if you had the money you can put a 2jz supra twin turbo motor in any one of those two cars. Vids on youtube if your curious.
Overall i would say s2000 because its a newer car. Used first generation s2000 will run about 10k-20k. And if you get one please garage it. Because kids steal the s2000 seats and put them in the civics and integras.
