Q: Why will my 1997 Hyundai only start after turning over repeatedly?
My 1997 Hyundai is having problems starting. Regardless of weather, engine temperature, or moisture, it will only start after repeatedly turning over. It sounds like to me that it is a starter/solenoid problem but I defer to those with greater knowledge and experience than myself. Thanks in advance, brothers and sisters.
A: You HAVE BAD SPARK PLUG WIRES or WIRE it sounds like it is very hard to start. change the plugs
2 it could be the fuel pressure regulator is stuck or not cycling the fuel in the right amount into the fuel rail.
3 have the fuel pump and filter check/ changed if needed especially the filter.
4 if none of the above has been the cause have the shop check the >TPS sensor <"Throttle Position Sensor" the shop will hook a meter to it and make sure its getting the right amount of voltage/ampers if the switch is going out it should be replaced this sensor tells the computer how much the accelerator is depressed therfore speedeing up the engine.
5 something easy for the shop to replace is the ignition module or coil this is the same thing depending on the car. some cars like a 1993 HONDA ACCORD has 2 modules that control the spark to the spark plugs.
I hope this helps you.
Q: How come people make fun of Hyundai, when Hyundai's always get good reviews from press and media?
I know Hyundai were crap in the older days..as a frequent newspaper and magazine reader, I heard nothing but good reviews on Hyundai. I'm from Ohio and Hyundai's (especially the Sonata's) are popular. Customer satisfication were also high.
A: People are just dumb. Hyundai has steeped up their game a lot from what they used to be. No they have very high ratings for performance, value, and customer satisfaction. They also proved a major point by being the industry's first 10year/100,000 mile warranty. If they are willing to put that kind of warranty up for the consumer they must have a lot of confidence in their product.
The auto market in only getting better. Cars are becoming more and more reliable. It my opinion, Hyundai doesn't deserve to be bashed anymore.
Q: How many miles can I expect from a hyundai engine?
I'm thinking of buying a 2002 Hyundai Sonata, except the engine already has 102,000 miles on it. I'm tied up for money and the vehicle itself looks nice. I'm just curious to know how many miles these (not sure if it's 4 or 6 cyl on this model) engines usually live up to? Thanks!
A: Unfortunately today's engines are not built to last as long as the old ones did ( just like everything else these days). If the previous owner or owners kept up with oil changes and general maintenance of the engine, and didn't drive the heck out of it. You could be lucky enough to have it last you another 100,000 miles. Check out this site I found for you it's a place you ask the question of certified Hyundai mechanics and their answered ASAP...
Good Luck!
Q: How much would it cost to have a hyundai coupe re-sprayed?
I brought a hyundai coupe, its 8 years old and has a lot of color fade, and a few black scratches around the car, so i was wondering how much would it cost to make it look almost new, lol, thats not going to happen but i hope you know what i mean.
A: As 2 others said, a basic 1 coat on top of the old paint will cost you about $300. To have the car given a factory like paint job runs $2000+ since that involves sanding down all the old paint and applying several new layers of paint and clear coat. A car that old, I'd still with the $300 range.
Q: How do you remove radio and cage from my Hyundai Coupe 51 plate?
I have a Hyundai Coupe 51 plate and wish to remove my old Sony XPLODE XR-ca430X with an updated Sony Digital Stereo. Please can anyone help, do I have to take the dashboard section off to get to the stereo and cage. I really don't want to take my car to Norfolk Car Audio to have some little kid climb round my car and charge me 70-100 quid for the effort. Thanks
James.
A: since it already has an aftermarket radio in there all u need to do to get it out is slide the "radio keys" (thin peices of metal that come with the radio) down both sides of the radio you should hear a little click coming from both sides then just pull back and it should slide out then for the cage all u have to do is bend the top and bottom to where there pretty much touching and that too should just slide or wiggle out
Q: The battery has gone dead in my Hyundai Coupe and the bonnett opener is electronic. How can I open the bonnett
Is there any manual button to by pass the electronic button in cases like this? It is an 02 Hyundai Coupe SE and the battery is totally dead after the car wasnt started for 2 weeks. Thanks in advance.
A: You can buy a battery powered power supply which plugs into the cigarette lighter, its used mainly so that you don't lose all your radio presets etc. when you are changing batteries, costs around $20.
Q: hyundai.......?
Look like trash sometimes but are cheep as hell used ...................wats your opinion on them
A: I needed a car rental a few months ago while I was leaving the airport and they gave me a Hyundai Sonata (V6). Very peppy car and it rode pretty smooth too. After having it for a few days I can't say that I wouldn't be open to maybe owning one someday.
Hyundai has come a LONG way. When was the last time you drove one?
Q: What is the name of the dance group on the Hyundai SantaFe Car Commercial That Uses Body Shadows?
I just saw a Hyundai commercial, where the dancers made shapes of various objects using the shadows of their bodies. Does anyone know the name of this dance group?
I'm not looking for the name of the song, I'm looking for the name of the dance group in the commercial.
A: "Chocalate Lovely" from album "Supermodified" by Amon Tobin.
That's what the YouTube notes say, anyway.
Q: What are the stereo wiring color codes for a 1993 hyundai lantra gls?
i am trying to install a new cd player in to my 1993 hyundai and am trying to find the stereo wiring color codes for it.

Q: How do i power up my hyundai avante and still make it fuel effiecient?
i'm driving a hyundai avante with beautiful 17'inch rim and low profile tyres. Its a killer. But I notice that it reduce my power and increase my fuel consumption. I need advise on what i should do to power it up and at the same time still able to make it fuel efficient? Pls help I don't want to loose my rims..
A: When standing side by side, do your new tire/rims measure the same height as the stock set did? You probably are getting inaccurate numbers since you changed the diameter of the tire. I'd have the speedo checked by a tire shop to see if it is measuring accurately. Bigger and probably lighter rims/tires should not reduce your fuel economy unless you really got much wider tires.
Q: 1998 hyundai excel what would i need to cover to degrease the motor also what kind of oil does the motor take?
1998 hyundai excel what would i need to cover to degrease the motor also what kind of oil does the motor take
A: What works best for me is Carburator Cleaner. It comes in a spraypaint-like can and is very cheap. Usually, it doesn't affect the motor too and degreases very well since it's high pressured. Now for oil, depending on the temperature of where u live, try a SAE10-40. That's all I can tell u...
Q: Where is the bridge that appears in the Hyundai commercial?
The bridge appears to be over a dam and the commerical highlights all of Hyundai's models with the bridge in the background.
A: The only one that I can recall is the 7 mile bridge in the Florida Keys.
