Q: Do I need to use a timing light on a Hyundai Accent?
I got a 2002 hyundai accent gs and I have not worked on one before. Does it have a timing belt? If so:
Do I need to use a timing light to make sure its set right (for a tuneup)?
Im new to the timing belt scenario so I just wanted a low down on what I need to do for THIS car.
A: you do not need a light
there is marks on the Gear wheels line thim up with the marks on the block and you are good
Q: Where is the emergency trunk release on my 98 Hyundai Accent?
I bought a car that has the handle of the hatch broken off. I want to release the trunk and was told there may be a trunk release somewhere on the car. Anyone know where that may be? I need to replace the tail light housing!
It's a 1998 Hyundai Accent, base model.
A: Check with the dealer
My 2001 model has got a release lever below the driver's seat
Trace where the release cable goes, you may be able to pull this cable to unlatch the trunk hatch (you may need a Vehicle Mechanic)
Q: I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent. Should I have Collision and Comprehensive on it?
I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent. I think its Kbb value is around $4000. The car is paid off. I live in Upstate NY which has a lot of snow in winter, and in the hills. Comprehensive (with a $1000 deductible) and Collision (with a $2000 deductible) comes to an additional $80 per six months. Is it even smart to have comprehensive and collision on my car, or should I just have liability?
A: how comfortable are you that you are not going to get into a accident that is your fault? very comfortable drop it not so than dont
Q: Around how many miles should a 1998 Hyundai Accent be doing per mile?
how many miles per mile should my 98' Hyundai Accent be doing?
also the engine and airbag light are showing on the board?
is this normal?
it has around 94927 miles if that helps...
Thanks!!
A: answer according to the way the question was asked..... your car, and every car, motorcylce, bicycle, etc. has always, and always will do 1 mile per mile.
ok, now to answer the question you intended to ask.....
how many miles per gallon should your Accent get? on the hwy, with the number of miles already on the vehicle, between 25-30 mpg. Engine light could be a number of things, but don't ignore it. Take it to Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, or Napa and have them run diagnostic. It wont cost you anything. Airbag light is likely due to air cylinder having a disconnected wire, but needs to be checked for safety reasons. Also, you are due for new spark plugs, wires, and rotor button.
Side note..... most common cause of check engine light is low transmission fluid. Go figure.
Q: Is the Hyundai Accent GS3 hatchback a reliable vehicle?
I am looking at this car because it gets about 33mpg and a new one is only around $11,000. I have generally heard bad things about Hyundai and I don't need another lemon. So what has your experience been with Hyundai's? Good or bad?
A: I have 2 Hyundai cars. a 2003 and a 2007. Both are very nice cars and the next time I look for a car Hyundai will be looked at first.
Q: How much does it cost to have a timing belt replaced on a Hyundai Accent?
2002 Accent, 73000 miles. Just had it at the mechanics and they said it was getting close to needing to be replaced, but mentioned somethign about having to take stuff apart and I don't know if that was a scam or what (I've never found an honest mechanic). Generally, what does it cost to get the timing belt replaced and how much work does it entail? Thanks.
A: Depending on where you go, parts and labor for this particular vehicle is around $300. I recommend doing the water pump at the same time since it is part of the components that the t-belt turns.
Q: Are The Hyundai Accent And The Chevy Aveo The Same Car?
Just wanted to know if the Hyundai Accent and the Chevy Aveo are the same vehicle - they have pretty similar specs. Also, if you own either one, please let me know about your experiences here. One of my main concerns is safety, and the other is that the RPM on the engine at 70 MPH is 3500 - that's kind of distrubing! Thanks for any feedback you can give...
A: Absolutely not. The Aveo is based on a Korean car, but a vastly inferior one. The Accent and its sister, the Kia Rio, are both great cars for the money. The Accent has airbags all over the place, and is safe.
Q: What do you think about buying a 99 Hyundai accent?
Im looking at a 99 accent for a pretty decent price just for a winter car just wondering if anyone had any advice about the cars? are they reliable? good/bad ect. thanks for the help!
A: What is Momsey talking about? GM and Harley Davidson for example sell more car's outside of the USA then in the USA. The auto business is global and Hyundai has US manufacturing, dealers etc.
Anyway, a 99 accent should be fine for light use, have it checked out by a mechanic to be sure there are no major issues. It's hard to predict reliability on any car that old, but that's why you are paying less then $1500 for the car.
Q: it this a good deal for a 97 hyundai accent?
hi i found an excellent hyundai accent...the car conditions are perfect but i dont know beacuse it has 124000 and he is asking for 1900$ what do you think guys?
A: Sounds a little high. Check out "nadaguides.com" to see what it books for.
Q: What's wrong with my Hyundai Accent's rear windshield wiper?
I have a 2002 Hyundai Accent, and about a month ago the rear windshield wiper stopped working. It was right after a big snow and I pulled a lot of ice off of the windshield, so I may have put a lot of stress on it. Help!!! I'm not used to driving in the rain without it!
A: Sounds like you need a new wiper motor, wipers aren't made for clearing snow off a windshield, brushes and snow scrapers are.
Q: Which is a better city car for India, Honda Civic or Hyundai Accent ?
I am seeking to buy a 2nd hand medium size car, that would give me average good mileage, low maintenance and wear n tear cost, parts are easily available, hardy enough to withstand potholes and broken roads and finally "a safe car" for family. What should I opt for Honda or Hyundai ?
A: The Honda Civic is a much better car than The Accent. Though they are almost the same at costs etc., Civic is much better in everything else. Opt for The CIVIC.
Q: How do I turn off the CHECK ENGINE light on my Hyundai accent 1.5 CDX?
I took my Hyundai 1.5 CDX to the several garages. They have done diagnostic tests but could not find any problem in this car and they have turned off CHECK ENGINE light by deleting it from the memory. It stayed off for few hours and came back again. Now this light flickers and stayed.I have also used the battery disconnection method but the problem remained the same as it was before. Please help me to fix this problem.
A: It's a Hyundai, So first check it has an engine
Q: What is the typical highway RPM for a Hyundai Accent?
I bought a 2007 Accent with no extra frills (does have AC), 5 speed manual transmission. In 5th gear at 70, the RPM is over 3000. It approaches 4000 near 80. Is this expected? Do I need to drive slow with this car? Will this car wear out if I drive it on the highway? I am somewhat concerned.
A: as mentiond its normal and enjoy the challenge of keeping it out of the repair shops hyundais have many service bullitens for many problems hence the "great" warranty
Q: Does anyone know about 98 Hyundai Accent the clutch pedal makes a grinding noise when pressed?
Whenever I change gears the clutch makes this noise like a swoosh all the while till get up off the pedal.
A: It is the clutch, the Accent clutch is easy, any quality repair shop can perform this repair. good luck!
Q: Hyundai Accent - Why have the indicators and low beam lights suddenly stopped working?
My car was left out in the rain and then when I went to drive it the only lights that worked was my high beam, even the indicators wouldn't work. Would replacing the fuse work? or does it sound more like a wiring problem?
A: It is a fuse problem. The fuse block must have gotten wet or condensenion built up inside it. Take the cover off it and check for moisture. Let it dry out in the direct sun if you can or by using a hair dryer on it but don't melt fuses. Then check the fuses one by one and replace any that are bad.
