Q: What do you think of the new Jeep Commander?
Looks like a big XJ (Jeep Chorokee), I want one.
A: love it. got the big 5.7. fuel economy is ah, well, not particularly awesome, but incredible drive, sound system, and amenities make up for everything. owners/testers of it & it's competitor, the h3, always pick the jeep. & BIGGEST plus: not too many people r buying big suvs these days so def. easy to bargain down so money saved in that pays for gas for years.
Q: Anyone know how to install Jeep commander grab handles?
I wanted to install some grab handles on my truck, but the instructions show a tool that looks similar to a bolt cutter. What is the name of that tool and where do i find it? Or do i even need it?
A: it is a rivet nut installer. it installs a nut into the sheet metal that expands like a rivet when you squeeze the handle. they sell the tool at menards with all the other rivet guns. it comes as a kit with rivet nuts and the tool for $10. the package says "thread setting tool".
Q: does anyone know if the heater part on the panel of a 06 jeep commander should light up?
I just purchased a 06 commander and the heaters dials don't light up is this normal
A: the illumination should be around the dials not on the dials themselves and the fuse for them is the same as the other dash lights so if they are out you need new led lights for them

A: No, I took a long test drive though. Pretty neat car. But it would be easier, if you told us what information you are interested in exactly. Because normal information you can get from their website. The only thing the really stood out was it's extrely good tracking. Even with high-speed and rain. I was driving the deluxe edition. Man, there were so many gimmicks to play with.. Just go to your local dealership and take one for a day... But I can tell you nothing at all about longterm use.. since I had it for only 6 hours..
Q: Whats the best way to hook up an ipod to the stereo in and 06 Jeep Commander?
I would like to directly connect my ipod somehow to the jeeps stereo system. Is there a gizmo out there that i can get? I have a little fm adapter, but the audio quality just isnt there. Maybe ill just keep on burning those mp3 cds.

I have not seen one but I may try to get one soon if possible.
A: Jeep Commanders don't have 6 doors, they have 5, 4 regular door and a hatch. Check the Jeep website for trim levels and prices
Q: How do I get a navigation cd for my 07 Jeep Commander?
The dealer is trying to get it for me under the table; it's taking too long. Can I download it?
A: Be patient. The cd is a vendor ship direct item and will take your dealership 7-10 buisness days to get. Legally there should not be anywhere you can download it. Also if your salesperson is telling you that they're getting this for you "under the table" thats a load of BS. Parts departments do not give ANYTHING away. Your sales person "if they promised you a free cd" will either be paying for it out of their own pocket, or the dealership will be paying for it themselfs.
Q: Is the Jeep Commander considered a male car or a female car?
A: Hmm...I've only seen females driving a Commander. That's not to say that it's gender biased though. You make the car; the car doesn't make you. You can always add stickers to personalize it, nice rims or a system to make it a "male" looking car.

A: make sure you test drive it and get out on the highway ive heard that the commander rides alittle boxey and tight usually around corners and the engine is not to powerful either, but i like the design
Q: What should I do about buying this used jeep commander?
It is a 2007 limited with 31,000 miles. Leather interior and the works, minus navigation. Tires are about 50% worn. Dealer told me 18,995 and then today I was walking in and another salesman told an older customer that it was 17,900. Im 24 and buying my first new car, and I cant help but feel like Im being taken advantage of. Please help!!! how should I approach this??
A: Go to a bank or Credit Union and get the real Blue Book price for it. If you get pre-approved for financing prior to going to a dealer, then YOU are the one in control. Don't let them walk on you. All they want is the almighty dollar. Stand firm.

I'm driving an 8 cyclinder now and am more than ready to trade down to a six cyclinder...
A: You pretty much have all of the same drive train, power, and performance. It is just a matter of whether or not you like the look of it. It's a lot like what GM does. The Hummer H2, and the Chevy Suburban/Tahoe Silverado all share the same frames, and engines, it is just a matter of what vehicle appeals to you aesthetically. I personally do not like the Commander, but it's for purely cosmetic reasons.
Q: what routine maintenance for Jeep Commander are there besides oil change?
I have 2x2 4.7cc 8cyl vehicle. The dealer mentioned about differential or something that sounded like differential after 12,000. Is this a part of routine maintenance for 2x2 SUV?
A: there are maintenance intervals listed in your warranty booklet that should be followed. change diff fluid at 12,000?
i would check your maintenance schedule on that one, seems kind of early. i've had vehicles i never changed the
diff fluid. don't have it done at the dealership, they charge
about double what a good shop charges.
