Q: Jeep Compass?
Anybody have any feedback on the Jeep Compass? I've seen some negative reviews but was wondering what owners or people who have driven one think. Thanks!
A: I have one of the first Compass' to roll off of the line (build date 6/06) with almost 12000 mies on it. Absolutly love it! Great ride, great handling, good gas mileage, and no problems. Another place to look for information would be a JeepForum where you'll find information from owners and not the media.
Q: what are good speakers for a 2007 jeep compass?
I want to put new speakers in my 2007 jeep compass, the factory ones suck! I like to play my music loud so I need good ones, but don't really know what to buy. Also what would be a good stereo as well?
A: i would get an Alpine or Sony CD Player and go whith 6 inch Polk DB's for the front doors and Polk Coaxils for the back doors and 2 10 inch Directed studio subs. Get a directed a404 amp for the door speakers and directed audio 1200D monoblock amp. you will love the sound of it i guarentee it.
Q: Should I buy a Jeep Compass or a Dodge Calibre?
I plan to buy an affordable car. I've narrowed my choice to a Jeep Compass 2007 or a Dodge Calibre 2007. Which is a better buy for the money? What is a reasonable discount to ask for? What strategy should I use to negotiate for a discount? Or, would I have more luck asking for free-bees? I have to buy tomorrow since I'm paying for a rental. Please help. Thanks.
A: i own a repair shop,and either vehicle is a good choice to buy but i think you would like the jeep compass a lot better,both are good, but i have always liked the jeeps,and the caliber is a really nice vehicle,id have a hard time my self choosing from those two,i have drove a new caliber and they drive really nice,and look good to,and come with some really good features on them,so either one you decide on will be a good choice,i got a feeling you,ll wind up with the jeep compass though,good luck i hope this help,s.
Q: Is anybody offended by the Jeep Compass?
Since when does a car get to be called a Jeep? If the Cherokee SRT8 wasn't so awesome, I would complain about it too, but the Compass crosses the line.
A: Offended, no. Disappointed, yes. I didn't feel there was a need for the Compass when they announced it. I can understand the Patriot. It kind of gets back to the old classic Cherokee look.
They should have built the Patriot and not the Compass. Now I'm not one of those people that think Compass and Patriot spoil the true Jeep heritage. This is not the 70's and the market is constantly moving and expanding.
Q: is the jeep compass a good reliable car to buy?
i have found a used jeep compass and i am very interested in buying this mini SUV. BUT, a toyota dealor said to never buy domestic cars b/c they won't last. I think that he is just saying this to get me to buy a toyota, but i really want to buy a car that will last me!
A: I have a 08' Patriot and I love it. The compass and patriot are based on the same platform. If you look around you can find many Jeep Wranglers, Cherokee's and Grand Cherokees running around with many many miles on them. I know of a couple guys running around in jeeps older than me and I'm 30. I agree he is just trying to get you to buy a Toyota, they are good. BUT get what you like, what you can afford. Yes make sure it comes with a Warranty. I would guess it would have a 3 year on it. I had a VW and I put so much money into. I had a Ford and a Chevy product and didn't spend a lot on them. My hubby's old Toyota is still running on it's second motor. People are going to try to persuade you to buy whatever but it comes down to what YOU like, what YOU want, what YOU can afford.
Q: What do I need for my 2009 jeep compass to tow?
We recently purchased a 2009 Jeep Compass that we will be traveling across country with in June 09'. I got the tow package with the vehicle, but it does not include the Drawbar, Hitch ball, or trailer Hitch receiver. I want to make sure I purchase everything I need before our Trip. The more research I do, the more confused I get. What do I need to buy??
A: To avoid confusion call the Jeep parts dept for the cost of the trailer hitch. I doubt that you will have any options on the hitch, draw bar and trailer bar as this vehicle's towing capacity is very low, perhaps 2000lbs or less.
The Jeep Compass is a Caliber with a different skin.

Does anyone have a recommendation for what tires to put on a 2007 Jeep Compass? I put on about 80 miles a day - mostly highway (once I get down off the mountain I live on in GA) Thanks...
A: BFG T/A KO is an excellent tire. I run them on my XJ and highly recommend them.

A: It's not a true "Jeep". It's a crossover built on a Dodge platform. 2.4 ltr. 4 cyl engine. 4 wheel drive. Built for suburbia that gets snow. It's cousin, the Patriot "North" does have some reported offroad capabilities - and it does have decent clearance.
It's the lowest cost 4 wheel drive in it's class.
2007 was the first year .... reports to date are pretty positive .... but remember that this is not a true "Jeep".
It's a Chyrsler product.

There are two commercial so far that has the bobbleheads bobbling to the beat of the song in the Jeep Compass commercial. Both of the commercials have the bobbleheads pretending to drive. Q: Should I buy a Jeep Compass or a Volkswagon Jetta?
My fiancee wants either a Jetta or a Compass, we got great deals for both cars. The Jetta we have the 2.5 fully loaded for $20,000, and the Compass Limited we also go down to $20,000. Can anyone help us please? Convince me on either.
A: the jetta. ecologically and reliably better than the jeep in every aspect.
it has been my experience to stay away from chryslers jeeps or dodges.
go look at some used jeeps and jettas...test drive one...just to get an idea on one thats aged a few years. that might help you decide which one you like.
also, i would suggest going to consumerguide.com to get some ratings and it gives recalls, defects, and car specs.

With Gas being so high right now, its like 4 bucks a gallon, im driving a Dodge Ram with i love, but i hate the gas on it...

A: The gas rating of them is 23/28, so you would see 25 mpg around town.

A: I went with a buddy and test drove one. I wasnt to enthuised by it. And ran and drove really nice but personally didnt like the way it set. And Im not that fund of a jeep too much. But thats my opinion. Like I said it rides and handles well. And it does have power. Good luck on your decision
Q: What rear facing car seat will fit in Jeep Compass?
The Graco seat we have that was part of a travel system will not fit. I would like to stick to something with a base so I can carry the baby in it.
A: Which Graco seat did you buy? Graco Snugride or Graco SafeSeat 1? The SafeSeat is significantly bigger than the snugride, so if you bought the SafeSeat return it and get the snugride. Keep the handle up - that will give you an extra inch or two of space, but remember that not every infant carrier allows this. Graco does. You could also attempt to install the seat in the middle of the back seat, which might allow the child seat to jut out in between the front seats instead of pressing on the front seat. Just remember you can NOT use LATCH in the middle position, you must install with the seatbelt. (Assuming the vehicle has a middle position.)

production on. I saw one at the Chrysler Headquarters and it

A: wow! the other response isn't favorable at all.If you want a "car" it is fine. On par with most small 4 wheel drives,subaru, honda Hyundai, etc.But you should only take advice from people who can actually afford a new car.Not just bloggers who only dream about them and like old gas guzzling beasts.I own 6 late model vehicles and my jeep wrangler is among my favorites and has high mileage.Try one and remember that it has an awesome warranty so you will not be charged for any repairs for years!But if you want to go off road you need one of our gas hungry PIGS!Remember the other responder most likely never bought a new car in their life, nor ever will!
