Does anybody have any idea what it would cost (installed) to replace the windshield on a 04 or 05 Kia Amanti?
A: Hmm do you have full coverage insurance, Some include replacement of a windshield if it impairs the drivers view, Otherwise We have a glass company come in ad they round around 4-600 bucks, depending on the size of glass, most companies will travel to your spot and replace it on the spot and give you a lifetime leak warranty...I'll rephrase, the good companies.

A: Kia is total junk. Chinese made autos are at the bottom of the crap bucket.
Q: KIA-AMANTI Does anyone know if you have to change the timing belt at 60,000 miles,like the dealer reccomends.
If I don't change it, and it brakes, can I hurt the engine?
A: you can actually total you engine. The timing belt in located inside the engine. When an internal part like this breaks, you get tons of little pieces inside the engine that wont come out. You will inevitably damage your pistons, cylinder walls, valve train etc. you unfortunatly HAVE to make sure this gets done.

Q: 2004 Kia Amanti?
We are looking to get a Kia Amanti. Any know if they have good gas mileage? Any problems with the car? In a comparson what other car would be about the same?
A: It's very hard to be objective when it comes to cars, you have to realize that those "professional critics" are comparing the Amanti to other "luxury" cars, like the BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and others. Kia is not yet in the arena of those nameplates, when it comes to overall refinement and power. If you want a good touring car, the Amanti should be on your short list. The "price" proposition is where Kia gets you where you want it, the value is wonderful. I would say that yes, you can get a Toyota Avalon, but you'd pay for it! I have an '04 Kia Optima and I looked at the Amanti. I had one kid at the time and it wasn't realistice for me to get that car (too much car for the family). I am completely satisfied with my Kia, it has almost 80,000 miles and I changed the front brake pads and put new struts on the car, that's it! I believe the Amanit gets better than 20 mpg on the highway, and less in the city. I would expect more though. My car I believe is rated somewhere in the range of 19/25. I get 25 mixed driving here in the mountains of North Carolina. I have gotten 32 MPG on long trips.
I like the spaciousness and luxurious ride of the Amanti, if you want a sports car ride to boot, spend an extra $20,000 and get a BMW or Mercedes... Good Luck!

A: i would not buy a korean car of any brand(hundai, kia), they will break down and who cares about the warranty if you have to bring it back

A: Buy the Altima! Nissan has a better reputation than Kia. The Altima is more fuel efficient, but...the Amanti has a lot of Standard Features. Check JDPower.com for more info, or get a subscription to Consumer Reports, and every year there is the Annual Auto Issue, which has reports on all vehicles for the current model year, as well as reports on used cars.

A: They are totally different.
The G8 is a new Pontiac that is going to replace the Grand Prix. It will have over 300 HP and is considered a sports car.
The closest car I can compare it to that is selling now is the Mustang or 2004-2006 GTO.
The Kia Amanti is the flagship of Kia and is considered a near-luxury vehicle. Mostly realtors and old men drive these cars. They look kinda like the Jaguar S-type, but don't drive like one. Similar cars to the Amanti include the Hyundai Azera and Toyota Avalon.

A: the hyudai is the better of the 2 options kias 100,000 mile warranty is a crock of shit, if you can do your self a favor and stay away from either, buy your self a Honda.

Q: 2007 Kia Amanti vs. Hyundai Azera?
Can anyone tell me why they would pick one over the other or if anyone has experience with these cars? Thanks
A: I own the 2006 Azera Limited and love it. I would always go with Hyundai over Kia despite them having the same owners they are not built in the same factory or to the same quality standards. Hyundai has been named a best buy by Consumer Reports and Edmunds.com and also placed in the top 7 in quality/reliability with JD Power and Consumer Reports, Kia was middle of the pack of 36 brands...Euro brands place at the bottom. My Azera is super roomy for my 6 foot frame, if I was 6 inches talled I'd still have head/leg room in this large car. The Azera has many nice features like powerful 3.8L V6 (I average only 30 miles per hour, but still get 21mpg), supple leather heated power seats, rear power sunshade, full size spare, Infinity CD system, memory power mirrors/pedals/seats, dual climate zone + rear vents, large trunk with split fold rear seats. The Amanti probably has the same features/warranty, but the Hyundai is better quality and better looking I think.

A: The Kia Amanti is one of the best kept secrets in the US marketplace. For whatever reason, Kia does not promote the vehicle but it is extremely competitive in its class with all of the common convenience items and features of more expensive cars. The best news is that Kia's product quality has improved dramatically over the last 5 years and the 2005/2006 is a very reliable vehicle according to J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study.
The Kia vehicles are, as a rule heavier and have less power/torque in their engines so they use a little more gas and don't rocket off the line but the savings in the price of the vehicle more than offsets those considerations.
On the newer Kia's the unfavorable exchange rate of the Korean won to the US dollar makes them a bit more pricey than they were back in 2005 so relevant to their competition as new 2007 vehicles they've lost some of their price advantage. If you're looking at a used Amati, then that is not a consideration.
As with anything, value is a function of what you pay for the car versus what you get. I recommend going to kelly blue book www.kbb.com to get a realistic value for the used car with the mileage and options you're looking at. If it looks to be a fair price then I would recommend you pay a mechanic to check it out independent of the seller to make sure it doesn't have any problems before you buy it.

A: Ford never owned ANY part of Kia, but was in a partnership... Mazda models have been built by Kia (owned in part by ford)... Kia's are junk.
